Outer Banks Nightlife & Events

Outer Banks entertainment is so plentiful that it’s honestly hard to know what to choose! Outer Banks nightlife has well-known options, like seeing the theatrical performance of The Lost Colony at the Waterside Theatre on Roanoke Island. There are also the smaller Outer Banks events, such as music at local marinas in Wanchese.

In the mood to go dancing or bar hopping? Check out the Brewing Station with OBX Ladies Nights on Wednesdays, or stop by the New York Pizza Pub on Thursday nights for Mug Night. Of course, Kelly's in Nags Head has been a go-to hot spot for years too as has Uncle Ike's in Corolla! Does taking in a locally or even nationally famous band tickle your fancy? Dozens of musicians and bands can be found touring around local restaurants and bars. In Manteo, keep an eye out for the big-name country bands appearing throughout the summer or the local favorites that perform almost nightly at Poor Richards. Get a group of friends together and put your knowledge to the test at Trivia with Friends at Sundogs Raw Bar and Grill in Corolla or at Full Moon in Manteo. With so many Outer Banks nightlife options, it can be hard to choose just one for the night.

For the more adventurous sorts, you can sing out your personal anthem on karaoke nights. There’s even the option of making like a wolf and howling at the moon. You can do that here … no kidding. Where else could a night out fulfill your lifelong dream of being one with the wolves?

Outer Banks nightlife has its sophisticated edge, too. Prepare to dress to the nines (we’re talking tux and evening gown, folks) when this version of Outer Banks events takes the form of benefit galas, which we have a lot of every year. Meet some kiteboarding legends at events like the Tripe S Invitational or rub elbows with artists adored by the Outer Banks at many an art show opening.

Some events are family-friendly, while others are only open to those 21 and up, so make sure you check the information before selecting one for the evening. Every season brings its own version of Outer Banks nightlife, too. Take a look at the list below. Then try to decide what you’re going to do. Don’t miss a thing!
