Fantastic morning up here today with a mild wind and some good looking conditions. We want to say thanks to the Smiths for sending in there photos of Hazel catching her very first fish!!! I couldn't decide on which one to use and I can only post one a day and they were all good. This little girl in one of the other pictures looks like she took control of the rod and was working it, Congratulations Hazel. Thank you all for your continued support and sending in your photos we do appreciate them so thanks to everyone.
The fishing should improve with any luck today we are seeing some nice conditions and the piers are seeing a good mixed bag of fish. I'm not hearing much off the beach so far but the fishing should improve greatly today. The water is 77 today and we have croaker and mullet out there but we should see the return of the bluefish and Spanish. Don't be surprised to see some pompano and flounder kick off also. Squid and fish bites along with Gulp blood worms have been the bait of choice. Stick with your bottom rigs this morning but keep your eyes open for any bait balls or schooling fish, or birds working. This will be a good time to start tossing your lure and see if you can get some activity going.
The piers have mullet, croaker, blue's , Spanish, triggerfish, pompano and even some ribbon fish I believe at Nags Head. So a good mix of fish and that will usually translate to what you can expect to see up here.
Nearshore boat getting Spanish and blues with some tout. Offshore brought back both yellow and blackfin along with some wahoo. There were some problems with the sharks out there yesterday but folks still managed to pull the tuna in. Hopefully they will have better luck today!!
If your planning on coming to the outer banks in the near future we have some opening for offshore trips available. Best advise book early and plan ahead trips are filling up fast!! One call and we will take car of you, all you need to do is show up the day of your trip and you are on your way. We also have half and three quarter day trips along with shrimping and crabbing trips which are great family fun. Good luck to everyone today and we will keep you updated if there any changes today I will post a late report if thing start to kick off.
