Great day on the banks. Beautiful weather calm winds and flat surf. Water temp today is 70 degrees and let's hope we can keep it here for a while. Congratulations to Morgan, Kylie and Lily on there first charter trip abourd the Hitman. All the girls were 12 years of age and the first fish caught was a 7.4 pound citation Spanish and 31 fish in all. The family had a great trip and enjoyed the day on the water. Thanks for sending in the pictures. In the surf good size mullet, croaker and some puppy drum. We should see hopefully some Spanish, blues and trout out there as well. Also hearing  reports of flounder being caught witch is nice but they are out of season so don't get caught with one !! The nearshore fleet is enjoying some good fishing right now. There were cobia hitting the rail along with spanish, king mac's and a plentiful amount of ribbon fish. There were sheepshead and drum, trout and spot to the inside. The off shore fishing is just on fire. The yellowfin are in big numbers and just about everyone hitting there quotas. The big eye's lived up to there name with the biggest hitting the scale at 209 and 219 lbs, woof. There was a generous  amount of mahi with the largest coming in at 71 #'s. The bottom fishing also good with the amberjacks coming out to play with seabass and some nice tile fish.

We do have some spots open for half and 3/4 day of charter fishing. Send your photo's in to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we will keep you up to date.
