The proof is in the pudding. Good day everyone, we are having some spectacular weather and I hope you are taking advantage of it as I have been doing. The waves today are at 2 to 3 feet with a nice 64-degree water temp. There was a bit of a current yesterday and I don't get out there till around 3 for about an hour and a half but 4oz weight was just able to barely hold bottom but did work. There are puppy drum around with black drum, puffers, mullet, trout, and some small flounder. The fishing seems to be good from Carova down to Kitty Hawk with a good mix of fish. It was a little hard to even know if you were getting a hit but still was enjoyable. I fished for about an hour twenty in the afternoon and had a huge puffer an undersized puppy drum and a real nice 18" black drum as seen above. The piers a little off this morning but are seeing some mullet, blues, black drum, and flounder. On the inside of the bay trout and a good amount of drum being caught. The offshore guys just had a fantastic day with great conditions and brought home plenty of table fare. Blackfin and good numbers of mahi and yellowfin with some wahoo and a sailfish.
