A beautiful day this morning with calm winds. That was not the story yesterday we had a strong northwest wind and in some cases that's good for drum fishing but bad for everything else. The fishing was really slow yesterday and I have already talked to a couple of anglers this morning that got nothing and that was pretty much the story along the beach and the piers. The hot spot yesterday was the little bridge in Nags Head with a real good trout bite. There were quite a few keepers and of course some throwbacks but the bite was on. The water temp today is 55 degrees with 3 foot waves so the conditions today should be much better and the same for tomorrow we would see the fishing improve! Still, it is early season, and a lot or most fishermen are not getting anything and that is discouraging I know you come to the beach and want to catch fish and it's just about the right conditions and they need to hold in place for a while. With any luck hopefully, they at least will get something today or tomorrow to put that smile back on their face. I did hear about some puppy drum up here. The wind was tough yesterday so no boats were out. Good luck to everyone today and we will keep you up to speed on what's happening around here.
