Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Good Monday morning. Where oh where to begin. The water temp dipped to 59 but all is not lost. I haven't heard much from the beach, however, a congratulation goes out to Jeffery with his catch of the day and it's a good size shark that was caught in Duck, sp great job, and thanks for sending in the photo Jeffery.
For the surf fishing, some areas doing well and I believe others are on the slow side but the fish are there I had a report of seeing a ton of trout and even striper but unwilling to bite anything. The mullet bite should be fairly good and anything else is a bonus. The little bridge this weekend had a decent trout bite with small ones on Saturday and big ones on Sunday. The nearshore boats did improve this weekend as well with false albacore, king mackerel and the Spanish are back and there were some good loads of those. The big news is for the offshore fleet and the fishing came back strong after some dismal last few days. The Big Eye tuna hit big time with one boat hooking six at one time and got them all in. Most of the boats got their share of these fish and there were blackfin and yellowfin chewing up the lines too. The king mackerel were on the hunt and gaffer size mahi with 1 blue marlin caught and released, so some really good news for the offshore fleet, I just wish that would have happened on my Friday trip but oh well!!

Charters are available and don't forget to send those photos in at obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we will keep you up to date as best as we can.
