Sunshine and much calmer wind today. We have a shout out to Brendan and Jessie sending in pictures of their catch and they are bringing in the mullet and yes the dog is helping out as well. Great job you two keep up the good work!
The fishing has been up and down and Matt chimed in with a report from Carova beach where he had been catching some real nice fish but he said the last few days have been slow up there. He said there is a real good mullet bite happening 1 to 2 hours before high tide and 1 to 2 hours before low tide and then it just shuts down but for that brief time it's game on. A report from Avalon had a good puppy drum bite I think yesterday from one customer that was there so that really is good news as the fish begin to push to the north where we are waiting for them. This week we have seen some good fishing especially on the mullet and there has been some slot size puppy drum caught along with large black drum and some bluefish.
The boaters have had a tough week but the weather does look good for the next few days. The Little Shell was out yesterday and it was scrappy for them but manage to bring home a nice one as seen above. The fleet that was out had their hits and misses but there were a good number of blue marlin caught along with yellowfin, blackfin, mahi, and wahoo. Just some boats with better luck than others and that's the way it goes sometimes.
Predictions this weekend looks very promising so I do expect some good fishing to be had, current water temp is 61 today with much milder conditions.

We have some charters available just give us a call they are booking up daily fast so don't think about it too long before booking.

Some good news is we are looking to add a charter service here in Corolla for those of you not wanting to make the travel down to the main marinas. This service will be sound side only and on a much smaller boat but you will be able to fish and crab right up here which is going to be good for some folks. We will keep you posted as we get more information on this.

Send your photos to us at obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and you can see your smiling face on our fish report!!
