Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Another week passes and a new one begins as we change over this week. Young Rett from Virginia is already at it and caught some fish on fish bites well done Rett. The fishing along the beach has been slow and with this southwest wind blowing the warmer water offshore it brings up a cold upwelling. We are sitting at 66 for the water temp and would like to see it much warmer right now and that is really why the fishing is slow along the beach. Mullet, croaker, spot will be your meal ticket and there are flounder out there just out of season, however. The shark fishing has been very good up here we had some guys just in that bagged on early this morning. If you are shark fishing bring your heavy gear you will need it these fish are strong. The nearshore boats are having fun with Spanish, bluefish, king mackerel, albacore, and ribbonfish. The all day boats doing well also and the fishing is good with mahi, yellowfin, big eye some wahoo, white marlin, blue marlin with excellent bottom fishing for tilefish, and some big amberjacks at the towers.

We do have some spots open both for fishing and shrimping and crabbing available just give us a call at 252-453-3339.

Send you photos and questions to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com   and we thank you.
