Corolla Fish Report
Here we go another new week. We have a little better conditions out this morning with the waves at 2 to 3 feet with a 75-degree water temp. We have a decent northwest wind today around 5 to 10 and that is good drum fishing weather. We do see a drum, mullet, croaker, spot, flounder now out of season small pompano with plenty of bait in the surf. The Spanish and blues are here and there are some being caught but they are still being tight-lipped but you will see them jumping out there. On the piers, Jennette's has had a good big drum bite the last couple of days and there has been some noise fish hauled in along with Spanish, croaker, blues, albacore, and pigfish. On the sound side in Corolla the fishing is good there is a lot of finger mullet on the move and the drum are out there. Our local captain has been catching them and we had a report from a kayaker that launched out of whale head yesterday and said there were plenty of them to catch so good news for the sound side. Nearshore boats are getting spanish and some nice size one at that with bluefish, albacore, ribbonfish, and some king mackerel. Offshore is still some good fishing going on with yellowfin, mahi, wahoo, sailfish, marlin, and starting to see swordfish for those willing to put in the effort to catch these fish. So not too bad as we move into the fall season!!
We are now offering a 1/2 day twilight trip for big drum from 5 to 9 pm and there are some big ones out there we had 3 citations yesterday and I saw the pictures just didn't get any sent in but this is a great trip to try and runs 600.00 for up to 6 passengers so give us a call and we will get you on the fish!!
Charters are available this week and the shrimping trips are killing it as well just call the shop for details.
