Inshore from Oregon Inlet
Corolla to Nags Head Piers

Good Morning from Corolla another great day to hit the beach and do some fishing!! The picture above is from 11 year old Jesse from Pennsylvania came in yesterday and sold himself off as a beginner fisherman and went out to try his luck and quickly turned pro and  landed his first fish on the first cast and continued to catch more and he is out doing it again this morning congratulation's Jesse great job. The surf fishing up here is off the hook right now with anglers catching plenty of Mullet, Croakers, Spot, Flounder, Kingfish and the Bluefish are going off like crazy. There is a huge school of Blues working there way up and down the coast with a lot of bait fish as well, the dolphins are coming right up to the shore and the minnows are leaping out of the water even people that aren't fishing are enjoying to see all the action in the water. The water temp is 76 degrees and there is a wind change which has picked the waves up to 2' to 3' feet but the fishing should still continue to be very good. Even though the fish are on the small size there is a lot of fun to be had. We also had a report of a 40# Cobia caught in the surf as well. The Pier action has small Cobia at Avalon with Bluefish and Mullet, And the rest of them have Spot, Mullet, Spadefish, Triggers, Pigs and Pins. Inshore had some Cobia, Trout, Amberjack, Pompano  and Red Drum. Nearshore had Bluefish and Spanish. Offshore still getting some really nice Yellowfin some Blackfin, Wahoo, White Marlin, Blue Marlin and Sailfish.

Charter fishing trips are available but trips are filling up fast so think ahead and book early to make sure you can get a trip if your thing of doing one. We have Boats from 26 feet to 53 feet from inshore to off shore for the big ones give us a call and we will get you out there.

Thank You from OBX Bait and Tackle.
