In Summary:

What a beautiful, sunny, early spring day we are having here on the Outer Banks this morning! The winds are fairly calm out of the northeast around 10 to 15 knots and a comfortable air temperature right around 45 degrees. The water temperature this morning at Duck Research Pier is still remaining constant at 43 degrees and fairly clear. Bring me a big fish so we can put him on the scales!

Surf Fishing Report:

This morning in Nags Head we have received reports of Dogfish and Skates. We have also had similar reports as far north as Corolla. From the Point at Hatteras stretching to the south beaches of Ocracoke, there has still been a pretty good Puppy Drum bite. This time of year we are praying for southerly winds to push the warmer water up from the south, which in turn bring more varieties of fish.

Sound Fishing Report:
The sound fishing the past few months have been very slow. With this warmer weather the sound fishing should start to kick off soon! The Puppy Drum fishing around the inlet, on the flats and in the channels could happen tomorrow!

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Closed

Nags Head: Closed

Jennette’s: Few Dogfish and Skates

Outer Banks: Closed

Inshore Boats Report:
Not much of a report for the northern Outer Banks but in the sound down towards Ocracoke they have started to catch the Puppy Drum.

Offshore Boats Report
No one was able to make it offshore yesterday due to winds and unfortunately the charter guys were blown out again today so I probably will not have any offshore reports for tomorrow morning unless a couple private or commercial boats made it today.
