Vickie Jo Franks Solo Exhibit
In December and January, Dare County Arts Council's Courtroom Gallery will feature Vickie Jo Franks' solo exhibit titled "A Heavenly Host."
The two month exhibit will showcase Vickie Jo's playful use of art elements and design principles united into compositions with messages. Vickie Jo's work features bits and pieces of discarded and broken things that she collects and repurposes into art. These items are assembled to share social and environmental concerns, experiences and understandings. Combining a playful use of art elements and design principles, Vickie Jo creates compositions with these messages.
A Heavenly Host will be on display December 4, 2020 - January 23, 2021.
"I identify with people that use art to overcome difficulties. The messages of social and environmental concerns in my art are efforts to turn hate into love. My art is confession and call to work together to accomplish solutions. I use art to process betrayals, anger, to give thanks, be grateful and connect with others to solve social and environmental problems we all share," says Vickie Jo.
