Community of Practice Playgroup for Family Child Care Homes
Dare County Providers, join your peers in a unique learning experience this fall! From 9:00 - 10:30 am on the second Friday of each month this fall/winter, sign up to attend the Community of Practice Playgroup centered around the Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS).
The March 2019 DCDEE child care rule update states that Family Child Care Home operators who do not choose to go through the rated license assessment at relicensing must still perform a self-assessment using the Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS) over a period of 3 months.
In the dynamic environment of CYP's updated Play & Learn Library, learn and share what works during the self-assessment process with your FCCH community. Through discussion, observation, and play, address important areas of the FCCERS while also embedding the key points of the preceding week's Explore to Learn Playgroup.
From 9:00 - 10:30 am on the second Friday of each month this fall/winter, November 8th, December 13th, January 10th, and February 14th, Emily Kenyon will facilitate a Community of Practice Playgroup centered around the FCCERS. Join us with the children in your care for as many of these dates are you are able. Paired with a few visits for onsite assistance and you will complete your self-assessment with pride and confidence!
Only two programs attending at once will work best, so sign up soon for the dates that work for you. Playgroups are highly suggested for FCCH programs due to relicensing this year.
This program is only open to providers in Dare County.
