Part 1: Medication in Child Care
Participants will learn medication best practices in early care and education including receiving, documenting, storage, and disposal. Participants will learn about NC Child Care regulations, types of medication, and the forms that are required to be completed before giving medication. Participants will also learn how to recognize, respond to, and report medication error. This training does not prepare participants to give medication to children. Additional in-depth, in-person, skills based training should be undertaken by early educators who will be responsible for giving medication to children. 2 DCDEE approved credits.
Part 1 is available on DCDEE Moodle. Participants who have completed the training within the past 3 years are eligible to take Part 2 if a valid copy of the certificate can be provided.
