Raising Responsible Teenagers

Children and Youth Partnership, Raising Responsible Teenagers
Event Description:

Raising Responsible Teenagers is the first in a Teen Triple P Seminar Series.  It is a "light touch" intervention designed to give parents an understanding of the basics of positive parenting.  The seminars address some of the most common parenting and behavioral issues families with teenagers face.  These information sessions are held for large groups of parents -usually 20 or more.  There are three 90 minutes seminars and parents can attend one, two or all three in the series.

Providers deliver the seminar with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation.  Each parent receives a tip sheet that recaps the seminar information.

Who Is it for?  Seminars provide brief help for parents who are generally coping well but have one or two concerns with their teenager's behavior or development.  A seminar can also be a good introduction to Triple P's positive parenting - a way of encouraging parents to consider seeking out other interventions in the Triple P system.  Seminars are available for parents of adolescents aged 12 to 16 years.
