Blue Marlin Bite Is Hot!!!!!
It was an awesome week of fishing here at Hatteras Harbor, despite a few days of uncooperative weather. We made the most of the nice days though! The highlight of this week had to be the Blue Marlin Bite. It was HOT! One day alone most of the fleet had a release and several boats had double headers. To top it off we had several Sailfish Releases this week! Offshore anglers filled there coolers with Dolphin and Blackfin Tuna which continue to bite. A few Wahoo ended up making it to the docks as well. We had quite a few boats bottom fishing this week. They found Sea Bass, Tilefish, Triggerfish, and several citation Grouper (in the 40-50lb range). The inshore fishing was action packed this week as the Cobia continue to bite. The Puppy Drum bite seemed to pick up and we had quite a few boats return with limits. The big Drum were found several days and anglers enjoyed the catch and release. Boats also managed nice catches of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Speckled Trout. Overall it was a fantastic week of fishing and the weather is looking to bring us another exciting week.
