July 4th Week!

Hatteras Harbor Marina, July 4th Week!
Monday, July 10, 2017
Offshore from Hatteras Inlet
Inshore from Hatteras Inlet

We can't believe we are already ten days into July! The weather was not completely favorable this week as we endured a few days of hard South West winds and some intense thunderstorms.  Our inshore boats were able to fish around the storms and wind this week.  Offshore the Blackfin Tuna continue to bite as well as the Dolphin, both Bailers and Gaffers.  Several boats found some Wahoo this week but the bite remains scattered.  A few of our boats opted to fish closer to shore on the wrecks. They found Amberjack, Triggerfish, and Black Sea Bass.  The Billfish bite was great this week.  Our fleet had quite a few Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Sailfish releases.  The highlight being a 12 year old angler with her first Blue Marlin Release! Inshore, the Red Drum bite continues to be great with slot and over slot size being caught.  Boats retuned with limits of Puppy Drum daily.  Also in the mix has been Gray Trout, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, and Bluefish.  Overall anglers had a great week of fishing and we are excited to see what this week has in store!
