Weekend Report

Please send pictures to oceanseastobx@gmail.com

Offshore fishing has been hit or miss on the YELLOWFIN TUNA. Today was pretty good but yesterday very slow. Some limits of MAHI this weekend, scattered WAHOO, limits of TILEFISH. The BILLFISH bite has been a little slow with a couple boats today catching 3 billfish.

Inshore several KING MACKEREL being caught along with a few SPANISH MACKEREL. Lots of AMBERJACK on the wrecks. We are selling live bait for them at the shop. Several schools of DRUM both inside and outside the inlet.

Sound boats are catching TROUT, FLOUNDER, and DRUM. Plenty of puppies and some big drum now. The kayak fishing is awesome right now in the sound.

Piers are still catching KING MACKEREL and COBIA. SHEEPSHEAD around the pilings have kept the anglers busy. Some SEA MULLET, BLUEFISH, SPOT, and few SPANISH MACKEREL are being caught too.

Beach fishing is getting better with PUPPY DRUM, POMPANO, SEA MULLET, SHARKS, and FLOUNDER.

Thanks OBX on the fly for the kayak drum pictures. The pompano weighed 2.7 pounds caught by Chris Bland. Danyelle Hegarty from Charlotte with the nice slot puppy drum from the beach. The king was caught by Don and was almost 30 pounds and the final picture was Jake Worthington leadering up a billfish on the Seaducer.
