Offshore from Oregon Inlet
Inshore from Oregon Inlet

August has come and gone and fishing with Oregon Inlet Captains continues to amaze!!  The beautiful waters have churned up some results not of the traditional norm we've seen. Seriously, who catches yellow-fin tuna March all the way into the end of August? Why, our captains did!!  August has given us good numbers of mahi mahi, wahoo, black-fin, and some tilefish.  Anglers off-shore have released more than 300 billfish and more than 50 red drum on the Near-Shore and In-Shore trips during the month.  Our captains proudly competed in the annual Alice Kelley Ladies Only Fishing Tournament on 8-14-16 as well, with tournament proceeds benefiting breast cancer research. The tournament was a fundraising success again this year.

Near-Shore anglers have had some pretty awesome fishing, pulling in great spanish mackerel, bluefish, some cobia, albacore, amberjack, and some sharks. In-Shore anglers have enjoyed some amazing fishing as well, pulling in nice numbers of healthy speckled trout, some flounder, cobia, keeper red drum, and some shark. It is remarkable to see a great number of young anglers this month on these trips and we've enjoyed seeing these youngsters with their catches at the end of the day.

The Miss Oregon Inlet Headboat has been thoroughly enjoying some great fishing trips, both morning and afternoon this month. Anglers reeled in some great keeper flounder, sea mullet, croakers, sea bass, puffers, pigfish, pinfish, spot, and trout. A wonderful variety of species can usually be pulled in on any given day and can provide a great science lesson for the youngsters.

If you'd like to book a trip out with any of our captains, give us a call at 1-800-272-5199 or visit us online at https://www.oregon-inlet.com. We'd love to get you on the water!
