June Is Heating up
The Off-Shore captains tell us that the tuna are a bit slow coming in, but just take a look at the showing they're making now!! We are seeing some very nice quality fish with good numbers of trophy citation weights, including special mention of a 144 pound yellow brought in on 6/12/16. Other yellow fins this week are tipping the scales at 51 pounds, 87 pounds, 88 pounds, 93 pounds, and 97 pounds. We are seeing some excellent weights on mahi mahi, most are gaffers, and weighing in over 30 pounds, including special mention of an 82 pound beauty on 6/12/16. There were some very nice wahoo brought in as well and multiple billfish releases across the fleet. Near-Shore and In-Shore captains are enjoying some excellent spanish mackerel and bluefish action this week. There have been some very nice cobia brought in, most weighing in over 30 pounds, with several trophy citation weights, including special mention of 81 pounds. There were also catch and release of sound striper, cobia, and shark.
The Miss Oregon Inlet Headboat has had some great action, catching a wide variety of fish, including puffers, bluefish, flounder, sea bass, pinfish, sea mullet and others. Advance ticket purchase is recommended as tickets are first-come, first-served.
