More May Mahi
May has been active for off-shore and anglers are bringing in some very nice gaffer mahi mahi. A few wahoo have been brought in and we're seeing some decent numbers of yellow-fin tuna, a few black-fin, some albacore, and some bonita. There have been several sailfish releases so far this spring.
Near-Shore captains are ramping up their season this month and are seeing some strong bluefish action so far. In-Shore captains are seeing some great speckled trout fishing and bringing in some hefty keepers. This week, an angler brought in a beauty weighing in right at 4 pounds. The anglers are also bringing in a few flounder and enjoying some catch and release action of small rockfish and flounder.
The Headboat, Miss Oregon Inlet, has kicked off her season and there is good ticket availability. Currently, the headboat fishes Mon-Sat from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and will set sail with 12 tickets sold.
