Event Description:

Do you like chili? Bluegrass? Land conservation? If you're in northeastern North Carolina, the answer better be yes. This fundraiser for the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust invites the public to enjoy award-winning chowder and chili, delicious brews and bluegrass music, all while helping further the nonprofit's land conservation work in over 30 coastal counties.

The NCCLT hosts a similar event in Wilmington every fall, and this year is its first introduction to an Outer Banks audience. Head to Shipwrecks Taphouse and Grill in Kitty Hawk, and celebrate fall with chili, folk music and philanthropy. There will be award-winning chili and chowder, live music from the "intergalactic folk music" group Banjo Earth Band, drinks featuring Kill Devil Rum, Weeping Radish Brewery and Sanctuary Vineyards and mingling all in an open-air setting. The event includes a brief presentation about the NCCLT's work preserving the state's environments with significant environmental, historical and cultural value. A suggested donation is requested to attend the event, and it includes all-you-can-eat chili, two adult beverages (for those of age) and an introductory membership to the organization.

Price:
$25; $10 for kids
