Offshore from Oregon Inlet
Inshore from Oregon Inlet
Corolla to Nags Head Piers
Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

The weather and the water are heating up. First up we have Audrey Cadman from Tolland CT caught some afternoon mullet using squid so great job Audrey and thanks for sending in your picture. Next up Peyton and hisbrother Breaden are back at getting some shark action and they landed a 8 foot and a 92" sand tiger. They reported they caught them on spanish mackerel and also said there was a ton of baitfish in the water thanks for the report, you guys. Along the beach, it seems like all the bait is primarily working including squid, sand fleas, fish bites, shrimp, and mullet. There has been no problem catching mullet, croaker,  and kingfish off of the beach. We have also had reports of drum and trout with some blues. Most everybody is having a great time and at least catching something. I did have two guys walk in yesterday and said that they were the worst fishermen ever and could I help. After talking with them for a while and asking them how they were fishing the surf they were doing everything right, they tried different spots, they had the right hook size, bait everything sounded good. I had said everybody had been getting something and we concluded that they were just maybe the worst fishermen on the beach. We all had a good laugh and said just keep it up you'll get one. The offshore fleet are getting into some nice tuna bites but there is also a lot of shark activity out there eating your catch. Good amount of mahi, wahoo and there have been some blue and white marlin scores. The nearshore fleet is doing well with drum, ribbonfish, spanish, and bluefish and I will say the spanish are pretty good size to them.

Charters are available and if you thinking of booking one try to plan ahead as some trips are filling up fast when you arrive.

Send your fishing photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we thank you.
