Corolla Fish Report

Slow is the best way to describe this week's fishing. I'm not sure what the heck is going on, but the water temp did drop from 67 to 61, so maybe that's part of the problem. We did have a picture sent in from Thomas, who said the fishing has been slow. He landed this bluefish with his son Trevor grabbed it as it came in. It was caught on a lure that yours truly recommended, but I do not want any credit, that's just how I roll. Tom did all the work. We have seen some bluefish getting caught on lures and cut mullet, but the overall fishing for this time of the year is off for now. Even the mullet are not around, maybe one here and there, but that's not the norm. The piers of late have been getting some good action, but the last couple of days they have slowed as well. It's a take-what-you-get kinda week. I think I've heard about folks catching flounder over anything else, but you can't keep them, but at least you can catch them. The offshore fishing is still good, with plenty of tuna coming home to cook with mahi and some marlin action. The nearshore boys have spanish, blues and bonita.
