The Afterschool Program is in full swing, and we wanted to check in with what our participants are up to this week!

So far, the weekly activities have been packed with variety: we had Cast of Characters Theater Class, Board Game Bonanza, Choir, Upcycled Crafts, and GET OUT(side) Seed Hunt. Debbie guided the kids through making creme puffs (and yes, they were delicious!), the Construction Crew built bridges, Lou Castro taught ukulele lessons, students squared off in chess club, putting their best strategies to the test.

From music to baking to games of wit, the afternoons are full of creativity, learning, and fun!

Join us for the 3rd Annual Pubkin Patch Kid’s Event on October 11th (rain date: October 25th) at the Outer Banks Brewing Station Backyard! From 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, enjoy fall-themed treats, free pony rides, a petting zoo, pumpkin painting, and more! 🐴🎨

Ned, our tour guide extraordinaire, shared these awesome photos with the team yesterday.

"The "locals" (horses) don't know what to do with it," he said with a grin. He's referring to Carova Beach Park's new horse sculpture that was placed in the park about a week ago. "The horses like to jump the fence to get in."

We zoomed in on the photo where one of the horses seems to be nuzzling the "quiet stranger " in the park. 🥰 Welcome to the neighborhood.

New on the menu! Shrimp and Grits 🦐
Oour friend Capt Robby Midgett is back on the water and catching us some succulent greentail shrimp, plus we've got a little more time for some serious P&D action so here we are...
There's some really excellent stone ground yellow grits from SC underneath it all, the sauce is a bisque we make with the heads of the shrimp plus andouille sausage, pickled okra, scallions and herbs. We are back in love with low-country shrimp & grits again. On our menu now, I promise you will enjoy this faithful rendition of a Carolina staple.
