Okay story time gather round y'all...
So I was duck hunting the other day and on my way home stopped for lunch in Engelhard, NC at Sugar N Spice. Hole in the wall kind of place where Miss Beverly is serving up seafood and "fast food" in a space not much bigger than a broom closet. Good people, worth a visit. Anyways, their chili cheese burger was so ridiculously good that I decided to have a version on for special all next week inspired by theirs.

So many great restaurants have hosted their own dinners this week and shared their photos. We had to jump in and share our photos too!

Sunny and Nice -- Walter Betterton, age 4 from Roanoke, Va. caught this nice BLACK DRUM while fishing with his grandpa. So far today, small BLUEFISH. There's a moderate N breeze at 12 knots. Ocean temp 58 degrees. High tides 9:30 a.m. and 9:55 p.m. Low tide 4:07 p.m. The pier's hours of operation switch to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the bathhouse closes for the season starting Monday, Dec. 1.

The best outcome to a would-be scary situation when Outer Banks Beyond captured these shots of a Banker down in the sand. No worry!! All was well because the horse just felt like a little down time on a beautiful afternoon 😁 Big thanks and kudos to Outer Banks Beyond and our locals for stepping up and keeping a (safely distanced) watchful eye.

It's impossible to do what we do without the crew that we have.

Our tour guides are top-notch and some of the best, not just in the area but in the country. The faces that you see, teaching, explaining, and sometimes even offering the worst, corniest jokes there are...

But there are unsung, behind-the-scenes heroes that keep us movin' n groovin' all season long. From the chilliest, rainiest, windiest spring and fall days to those sweltering, steamy, insanely thick summer afternoons-- they are out there making it look effortless.

We are talking about our top notch lot crew. The first ones in every morning and the last to leave every night, working tirelessly in all weather, all day, all week to assure our guests a safe and comfortable experience.

The incomparable team of Andrew, Ezra, and Tom, are led by the superhero himself, lead mechanic, Rob. These wizards of diesel have lifetimes of experience and knowledge and we couldn't be more grateful that they choose our company year after year.

So here's to them, the quiet team that puts it together, that makes it run, that keeps us going, the best of the best of the best, our lot team extraordinaire!
