Uncle Ike’s Sandbar & Grill; Corolla Banquets & Catering

By Beth P. Storie | Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Tucked away in the Corolla Light Town Center, Uncle Ike’s is considered a lucky find for visitors, especially in the off-season when more than a few restaurants have closed. If you don’t see it right off, just follow a local (you know, the folks who wear flip flops year ‘round). Chances are the trail will lead to this casual, go-to neighborhood hangout serving reliably fresh and creative fare morning, noon and night, with live music on occasion.

Owners Jen Banzhoff and Tony Northup, together with close friend and chef, Troy Murray, have opened a companion business, Corolla Banquets & Catering.

Now they can take full advantage of Troy’s 25 years of culinary and catering experience. The room is suitable for a variety of events, but weddings are the primary focus. With a mission of “providing an affordable room with excellent food and service,” Tony said, “we are so excited to be a part of this experience.”
