Over the past seven years, this family-owned business has grown into a franchise serving locals and visitors warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts in four different locations on the Outer Banks. Duck Donuts gives you the options of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon, orange, peanut butter and maple glazes, which then can be sprinkled with your favorite toppings. Kids enjoy watching their donuts made right in front of them before they are boxed up and taken home to devour -- that is, if they make it home! Adding to these delicious treats, Duck Donuts proudly brings you a sweet collection of merchandise ranging from hats to shirts in all different colors and designs. Locally roasted premium Kill Devil Hills coffees, orange juice and other beverages are offered as well. Locations, so far, are in Duck, Corolla, Kitty Hawk at MP 1 on the Beach Road and in Kill Devil Hills at MP 8.5 on the Bypass. Most shops open at 6:30 a.m.; Corolla is at 7 a.m. and offers expanded hours during the summer.
