Steam Punk Flowers Workshop
Dare County Arts Council is pleased to offer a new sculpture/pendant making workshop with artist Cyndi Buell. “Steampunk Flowers” will instruct students in making a steampunk polymer clay flower, utilizing watch parts, found objects, beads and wire.
Class will review polymer clay basics. We will move right into the fun adventure of picking out what we find interesting to us then moving on to shaping and forming the size of flower we would like to make.
The goal is to learn how to string glass beads and embed wired beads and wired small stones into polymer clay flower pedals securely into the clay so not to lose any valuable parts while wearing your pendant or pin.
All tools and materials will be provided. Additional supplies can be purchased for a small fee. The cost per person is $85, and preregistration is required. The Steampunk Flower Workshop will be held on Saturday, January 31st at the Dare County Arts Council, 300 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in Downtown Manteo. The workshop will begin at 10am and go until about 5pm (depending on how much fun we're having!), with a break for lunch. The class is open to all levels of experience.
