A much slower week this week. It feels like the season has ended its just much quieter in the shop, but I'm not complaining it actually feels good I need the rest. The fishing this week not all to bad we have seen some big drum and puppy drum, flounder, mullet, and some big ones at times along with croaker and spot with an occasional bluefish. Matthew staying up on the 4x4 beach sends in a report every couple of days which really helps us in the shop. He just simply sends me an e-mail with a report I wish we had more folks doing just that. He is saying that the fishing is most consistent an hour before peak high tide. He nailed another 22" puppy with some flounder and mullet yesterday. s far as the bait goes fish gum or fish bites are working then he cuts up the spot for fresh bait which the drum and flounder will hit. So this is the way to do it if you're a newbie to surf fishing. We are seeing most all the baits working in one way or another which is good news. The piers have mullet. flounder, bluefish, spot, and some barjacks. The nearshore boats are getting plenty of ribbonfish and false ablies. The inside is still seeing drum and trout. The offshore seen. I spoke with Captain Hank on the True Grit last night and he said that the marlin bite is really strong, plenty of white marlins, blue marlin, sailfish, and there was a good rum on mahi yesterday, the docks were loaded along with blackfin and limits of tilefish. It's a great time to go offshore fishing right now so if your planning on a charter give me a call I have some great boats and captains ready to go.
The waves today are at 2' with a 79-degree water temp!! So get out there and enjoy

We still have open seats on an all-day charter for August 26th threw the 28th give me a call if interested at 252-453-3339
Hopefully, we will see a resupply truck this next week sometime supplies are still very low. We do have the basics left but even those are beginning to get depleted.

Charters fleet is race-ready to go next week and this is also a great time to hit the crab and shrimp trips, the shrimp will be big this time of year and what better way to spend your vacation with a big pot of steamers for everyone. Call 252-453-3339  and we will see you here and keep you up to date on what's happening on the Outerbanks!!
