Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Good day to everyone, I missed you all yesterday due to I was out on the Little shell for an all-day trip, but we do have some news off the beach.
We have a shout out to Nick who is back at it and great to hear from you Nick and landed a nice black drum yesterday and Hardy with his slot size drum and he has had some nice fish caught. You take a day off and how things can change in a day. The water temp has finally come up and we are at 61 today!!! so we should see more drum and black drum in the surf with mullet and other goodies. The trout should also begin to bite and there are signs of bluefish starting to move as well. The piers have some bluefish on them this morning too. Certainly, the surf fishing should improve. The waves are flat this morning but a good wind out of the southwest and will switch to a west wind this afternoon. I will say this week looks pretty windy and it just doesn't seem to want to calm down but we will have to take what we get.
Offshore boats yesterday just had a rough one the fishing was just very scrappy and I was out there yesterday. There was some blackfin caught but there was no size to them. A couple of yellows caught and a couple of wahoos were also landed and we had two mahi and two albicores. We landed those on the first troll and listening to the radio from other captains everyone was having a tough time and was very slow. The folks that were in the warmer water did catch their share of king mackerel they were bitting. We ended up the day and limited out on tilefish and there was seabass caught as well but they're just not in season till mid-May. The inshore boats were also slow yesterday and conditions just weren't right even looking for cobia the water was dark and it was overcast all day with a good chop to it.
