For more than 50 years now, The Christmas Shop has been gifting holiday magic to the beach scene. A true destination shopping adventure with 25,000 square feet of food, wine, souvenirs and holiday items, this wheelchair-accessible, pet-friendly shop is a focal point for family fun on the Outer Banks.
While Christmas is the name of the game, The Christmas Shop embraces all holidays and seasons. Starting the second week of October, they offer their fall display. It’s free to the public during the shop’s open hours, and all are welcome to take family photos and join in autumnal merriment alongside the holly jolly. There’s also a massive Halloween room here, complete with everything you need for decor, from cute to jump-scare.
If the Halloween room has you rattled, swing into the General Store, where you’ll find food and wine to soothe your nerves. Featuring bottles from Biltmore Winery, Duplin Winery, Sanctuary Vineyards and more, their knowledgeable staff can help with any wine-related questions. Tastings occur every day from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m., and wine is now sold by the glass.
Local and North Carolina food offerings abound as well. Of note is Carolina Coffee, with loads of flavor options, and Charis Coffee, which comes from Downtown Manteo. The Christmas Shop’s General Store also carries plenty of new food products perfect for beach relaxation, like Oscar’s cheese dip and Captain Rodney’s dips as well as chips, jams, glazes and sauces.
And we must talk about their Christmas inventory. The Christmas Shop carries everything you could possibly envision for the holiday, from wreaths and garlands to nativities and decor. With a truly impressive collection of beach-themed ornaments, including lighthouses, sea life, seashells and sand dollars as well as ornaments relating to hobbies, travel, sports and so much more, you’re sure to find the ideal beach souvenir to decorate your tree. All ornaments can be personalized at no charge. There’s also a large selection of toys, house decor and beach souvenirs.
After Labor Day, The Christmas Shop opens daily at 9:30 a.m., and you can check their website for closing times and updated hours for the autumn season.
