Of course you know that Currituck County is renowned for its stunning beaches, delicious seafood and thrilling watersports. But did you know that Currituck County is home to seven superlative golf courses?

Sprawling, well-maintained greens situated among stunning water features have stolen the hearts of both novice and experienced golfers. These golf courses are designed with nature in mind and meaningfully incorporate the natural maritime landscape into their layouts. Add practice facilities, options for food and drink, pro shops, event spaces and lodging on site (in some instances), and Currituck’s golf courses provide everything for the perfect golf getaway.

Golfing on the Currituck Mainland

From award-winning golf courses to smaller, more approachable beginner-style courses, the mainland offers many options for golf outings. These mainland courses are about a 25- to 50-minute drive from the Corolla Outer Banks, depending on which course you choose. Mainland accommodations are available at the Cottages at Kilmarlic and more lodgings, from hotels to vacation rentals, are available in Corolla.

Kilmarlic Golf Club is tucked in amongst more than 600 beautiful acres of Powell’s Point’s maritime forest. The highly rated 18-hole, 6550-yard, par 72 course is a nature lover’s paradise only 4 miles north of the Wright Memorial Bridge. Kilmarlic’s clubhouse is home to the Black Tartan Taproom, where you can eat, drink and be merry after working up an appetite on the fairways and greens. New to the Kilmarlic Golf Club are the Cottages at Kilmarlic, a handful of fully equipped and relaxing two-bed, two-bath cottages that are ideally suited for groups, tournaments and packages.

For golfers looking to step up their game, The Pointe Golf Club is a must. It is a well-equipped 18-hole public course with a driving range, a short game practice area, two chipping greens, a practice bunker and a practice putting green. It is a par 71, 6343-yard course, great for folks of any age or expertise who want to polish their skills. Be sure to check out their snack bar, and to make the most of the beautiful space, inquire about hosting an event at The Pointe.

The Carolina Club in Grandy is an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course spanning 7000 yards of manicured bentgrass green. It offers five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels and preferences. For a bite to eat after a great game, head over to ‘Tuckers for some delicious food and drink.

Just down the road from the Carolina Club is the Holly Ridge Golf Course and Driving Range in Harbinger. Holly Ridge boasts an 18-hole, par 71 course spread across more than 5000 yards. It also has a well-stocked pro shop, a lighted driving range with automatic ball machines and a practice putting green. Holly Ridge is family-friendly and happily caters to a wide range of abilities and skill levels.

Eagle Creek Golf Club and Grill in Moyock is known for its excellent bar and grill and its equally excellent 18-hole links-style course. This is a public course that welcomes golfers no matter their age or skill level. They’re even dog-friendly! Eagle Creek also has an on-site event venue, perfect for corporate events, fundraisers and weddings.

If top-tier golfing is paramount to your vacation, then a Currituck Outer Banks golf package would be perfect for you. OBX Golf’s OBX Golf at Its Best package is a three-night, three-round deal that offers a round at The Pointe Golf Club, The Carolina Club and Kilmarlic Golf Club and lodging at The Cottages at Kilmarlic.
