The Artist's Way Workshop Series
Dare County Arts Councils is pleased to present The Artist’s Way Workshop Series, a weekly creativity workshop which teaches techniques and exercises to assist people in gaining self-confidence in harnessing their creative talents and skills. The workshop will be held weekly on Monday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Dare County Arts Council in downtown Manteo. The series begins on Monday, September 14th and runs through November 30th. Attendance for each meeting is encouraged but not necessary.
The Artist’s Way Workshop Series is led by Rosie Rankin and Shirley Parker of Outer Banks Inner Journey. Based on the bestselling book by Julie Cameron, The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, the workshop is designed for both artists and non-artists who “create art to live” or simply wish to “live more creatively.” Each two-hour session will include yoga, meditation, activities designed to release creativity and guided discussions of The Artist’s Way approach.
Shirley Parker, LPC, LCAS, and Rosie Rankin, LPC, LCAS-A, owners of Outer Banks Inner Journey, are counselors and educators. Like Julia Cameron, they believe “we are all creative” and “we each can tap into the greater creative energies of the universe.” For the last 10 years they have combined their creative energies developing and conducting workshops focused on personal and relational growth and well-being at home and work.
The cost of the series is $240 for all twelve sessions. The workshop sessions will be held at Dare County Arts Council and participants need only to bring a copy of The Artist’s Way and a desire to grow.
