Julien McCarthy & Jim Bumpas Exhibit
In March, our Vault Gallery will feature woodwork by Julien McCarthy and Jim Bumpas.
Intertwining woodturning from two different perspectives, Julien and Jim have created a cohesive show titled "Wood Therapy" that will display their utilitarian and artistic work.
As a self-taught artist, Julien uses natural resources that he harvests from disasters and lot clearings along with semi-precious stones in his woodwork. He will include bowls, vases, urns, plates, lidded vessels, bottle stoppers and pots in the exhibition.
Jim’s work in the exhibit will showcase a variety of woodturnings large and small, including hollow forms (vases, vessels), bowls, platters, ornaments and other items. He primarily works with unique pieces of local wood and wood with imperfections.
Wood Therapy will open on Friday, March 5 and will remain on display through Saturday, March 27.
