Special Day
Today was a special day on board the Bite Me.
Tim and his son Scott have been fishing with me since the days of the little boat rock fishing in Deltaville.
Scott recently passed and Tim and his friends, Kevin and John wanted to pay tribute to him.
Today was for Scott.
We went off shore in search of Marlins.
Fishing has been scrappy off Oregon Inlet to say the least.
We had a slow day until about 130 when we hooked a large blue marlin.
We really did not know how big till she jumped.
Kevin did a great job on the 80w bringing her close to the leader for about an hour, just could not reach the leader.
Finally Garrett got a hold of her and we saw how big she really was.
We did not try to boat her, maybe we should have, biggest by far ever caught with me at the helm.
Definitely over 800 pounds, probably more.
Tim got some great photos, he is gonna send me some, and I think garrett's head mounted go pro got some too, ill post up as soon as I get them.
After catching the big girl, Garrett put one flat line out and hooked a small white marlin.
Tim caught it quickly.
Slick calm today too.
Special day on board the Bite Me and a great tribute to Scott.
Thanks for allowing me to be part of this special day.
