If you haven’t heard, there’s a new live music production company in town, and they have announced their lineup of summer concerts at Roanoke Island Festival Park.
Building upon VusicOBX’s legacy of bringing unforgettable live music shows to Roanoke Island Festival Park, Live From OBX has lined up eight national touring acts to play at the waterfront venue in Manteo.
Live From OBX Director Aaron Flahardy worked with VusicOBX as marketing director for the last three years and was part of more than 30 VusicOBX shows. When VusicOBX founders and Outer Banks locals Brad and Rebecca Meyers decided they needed to take a break from event production to focus on their full-time business and their family, Aaron stepped in with his own small event-production company. He is excited about the eight shows he has lined up for this summer and some of the changes he has brought to the series.
“On a personal level, Live From OBX has been 20 years in the making,” Aaron says. “For the last 20 years I have been an employee or consultant for other concert production companies, so getting to launch a summer series with my own company and partners is a major milestone in my career. I get to do exactly what I love to do.”

The three-month series kicks off Friday, June 20, the first day of summer, and features eight diverse national acts, curated by a team of independent concert promoters dedicated to bringing world-class entertainment to coastal North Carolina.

“I’m so excited about the diversity of the music we have,” Aaron says. “We have eight amazing shows that represent the past, present and future of live music, all right here on the Outer Banks within the amazing setting of Roanoke Island Festival Park.”
“Our first act, one of the best shows to kick off the season, Charles Wesley Godwin just got off tours with the Avett Brothers and Zach Bryan. Travis Tritt is, of course, a legend, and opening for him is Vincent Mason, an up-and-coming musician who went viral on TikTok – he’s the next big thing. Jake Owen – he’s almost sold out -- on a Saturday night at the beach – that’s going to be a really feel-good show. We are off to a great start."
Logistics
Transitioning the brand from VusicOBX to Live From OBX has been a year of intense work leading up to this summer’s launch. Aaron says he has been listening to the fans, the venue and the Town of Manteo about how to make this concert series work for everyone. He is committed to keep growing Live From OBX and has a lot of big names in live music interested in playing here in 2026 and beyond.
Roanoke Island Festival Park is an ideal open-air venue with lawn seating and views of Roanoke Sound. Blankets are welcome, but this year’s policy is that you cannot bring your own chairs. If this is a point of contention for you, consider three things: 1) personal chairs were slowing down the entry lines because they were the number one source of sneaking in alcohol and other forbidden items so they had to be searched thoroughly; 2) loading personal chairs onto the shuttles takes up seating space and makes the shuttles take longer; and 3) Aaron has started a program called CHAIRity in which local nonprofits can handle the chair rentals and make a portion of the profits to fund their good causes. The nonprofits are also going to help with recycling cans, making the festival more eco-friendly.
Food trucks, beverage vendors and other arts vendors will be on site at every show.
Another sticky point in the past has been traffic going into Manteo on show nights. To help mitigate traffic and create a smoother entry, Live From OBX is encouraging fans to arrive early, take advantage of the free parking and shuttle and enjoy everything Manteo has to offer before the artists hit the stage.
For each show, Live From OBX and The Pioneer Theater are teaming up for a Pre-Show Kick Off, with a different musical act at The Pioneer every show starting at 2:30 p.m. The shuttle will drop off people in Downtown Manteo at The Pioneer Theater starting at 2 p.m. to enjoy music, shopping and dining in Downtown Manteo.
“We recognize that our concerts are impactful to people of Manteo,” Aaron says. “By providing free parking and starting shuttles three hours ahead, we are hoping to get hundreds of cars there early and keep the roads a little more open at show time.”
Free parking lots are available at COA Dare and Manteo Elementary School on Highway 64. The shuttle will start venue drop offs at 4 p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m. for all shows.
Volunteer Open House
Aaron says Live From OBX will need volunteers all summer. You can message them on social media or sign up for the Eblast, which will send volunteer details. This Saturday, June 14, at noon, Live From OBX is hosting a Volunteer Open House, Q&A and signup at Roanoke Island Festival. Meet them in the parking lot by the picnic tables and learn about volunteering from the team leads.

Live From OBX is offering a Father’s Day deal on Travis Tritt tickets this weekend only. From Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15 get $20 off Gold Circle Pit passes with the code COOLDAD.
