Yoga on the Outer Banks

Want to feel relaxed and energized, flexible and strong? How about clear-minded and focused? These are just a few of the benefits that yoga offers, and the Outer Banks has a wealth of places to help you discover all of them. Whether you’re new and wanting to learn about this ancient art or a devotee looking to practice with others, there’s a place for you to enjoy yoga on the Outer Banks.

Here’s a rundown of where to practice on the Outer Banks, from indoor studios to the summer’s outdoor sessions.

Corolla

Corolla Yoga offers Beach Yoga at the Lighthouse Ramp and private yoga. See the website for days and times of beach yoga. 

Yoga in the Park in Historic Corolla Park will be held on Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. from June 3 to September 2. The 60-minute class is free. Go to the website for info.

Duck

Village Yoga in the Waterfront Shops in Duck has two indoor studio rooms and a schedule of daily classes, warm indoor classes, outdoor classes, online classes, beach yoga, SUP yoga and private yoga. See their website for schedules. 

The Town of Duck will hold its popular Yoga on the Lawn on Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m. and Dynamic Flow Fitness on the Lawn classes on Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. virtually starting June 15 and 16. They hope to transition to in-person classes at some point during the summer. The virtual classes will be on Facebook until in-person classes resume.

Kitty Hawk

Outer Banks Yoga at milepost 1 in Kitty Hawk offers an indoor studio plus online classes, beach yoga and private yoga. See their website for all of the options. 

Kill Devil Hills

Ascension Studio OBX has yoga classes, from beginner to Ashtanga to yoga for recovery and much more. See the list of offerings and special events on their website.

Kind Yoga is a yoga studio offering daily hot yoga and cool yoga classes and classes and occasional special offerings. Visit their website to see the offerings.

Nags Head

OBX Hot Yoga is a hot yoga studio offering daily hot classes plus sauna and massage services. See the list of classes on their website.

Outer Banks Family YMCA has yoga classes among its many indoor fitness classes. Drop-ins are allowed. Check to see if your rental home is in the YMCA rental program, as you may have use of the YMCA through your rental. See the classes online or call (252) 449-8879.

Nags Head Beach Yoga brings yoga to the beach at Jennette’s Pier in the summer months. Check the website for a schedule.

Manteo

OBX Community Yoga has yoga classes in an indoor studio on the Manteo waterfront, overlooking the harbor. Look for outdoor classes this summer. Go to the website for information.

Hatteras

TriVillage Yoga offers classes in Rodanthe. Find them on Facebook.

Hatteras Yoga in Frisco offers in-studio classes, private yoga and beach yoga. See their website for information.

Ocracoke

Ocracoke Island Yoga has classes every day, both in the studio and online. Find them on Facebook.
