Beach Rescue Drill Reenactment
Step back in time every Thursday afternoon this summer and witness the famous Beach Rescue Reenactment at the Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station in Rodanthe! This rescue method was used from the late 1800’s through the mid 1950’s.
What do visitors get to do besides watch?
The experience is of eight guys doing very different things with a common goal, so people notice different things. Visitors can ask different questions after the drill every week. Visitors can participate in some hands-on activities, like putting the line back in the correct pattern in the faking box, helping clean the gun and put the equipment back. It is an experience the whole family can enjoy and learn from.
