Beautiful day offshore with one of our regular groups making the trip down from the mountains.
Fishing was slow yesterday east of the inlet, and with a pretty Saturday we knew it would be crowded. Decided to push south and see if we could change our luck… and it kind of paid off.
Caught a blue marlin early, and my son got his first shot at leadering one up. Did a descent job — and got a little reminder when the leader came back and popped him in the shoulder. Part of the deal.
Got a good north wind coming Tuesday, so we’re hoping that gets the tuna fired back up like last week.
Back at it Wednesday.
