Outer Banks Festival of Model Aviation
Local residents are invited to try flying a model radio control aircraft and to learn about our model aviation community at our field at the Outer Banks Gun Club in Manns Harbor.
We will have qualified flight instructors to assist those wishing to try their hand at flying. Each person that tries flying will be provided with a raffle ticket for a drawing of three ready-to-fly airplane packages that will be held at the conclusion of the event.
The grand prize winner will receive a ready-to-fly airplane along with club and AMA membership. The two runners-up will receive a ready-to-fly airplane and AMA membership paid by the club provided they show the desire to continue in the hobby by applying for club membership. The combined value of all three prizes is over $1,194!
A second raffle of two bind-and-fly and one-year paid AMA membership will also be held. Tickets for this second raffle will be available for sale at $10 each, or three tickets for $20.
All members and guests attending are encouraged to bring a folding lawn or camping chair since seating is limited at the field. For those unfamiliar with our field location at the Outer Banks Gun Club please see the link below of exact location, access, and parking details.
Admission for this event will be one can or non-perishable food item per attendee that will be donated to the Outer Banks Food Bank.
