Downtown Books is pleased to welcome Ira David Wood III back to Roanoke Island for the inaugural event celebrating the release of his latest novel, The Bittersweet Voyage of the Golden Ship Hatteras- a deeply moving love story set on the Outer Banks of North Carolina at the turn of the century. Early reviews have called it ‘A writer's loving tribute to a place, its history and its people.’ David will be in conversation with Downtown Books team member, and Manteo resident, Bill Massey at the College of the Albemarle, Veteran's Hall, on Thursday, November 21 for a discussion about his book, the theatre, friendship and life, with time for audience questions and a book signing to follow.
