Event Description:
Young hatchlings ages 6 to 12 years old are invited to spend an afternoon going bird-crazy. Kids will hear the story Merry Christmas, Merry Crow by Kathi Appelt – a wonderful tale of a treasure-gathering crow. This bird finds treasures wherever he flies and ends up decorating a tree with found items. After story time kids will enjoy making bird feeders from things like an orange to a pine cone and create edible ornaments for birds. Children will learn about local birds found in the gardens and their natural habit. Kids will enjoy a healthy lunch and watch a movie about birds. Parents enjoy an afternoon of free time.
