Salty Dawgs Lecture Series: The Found Colony of Roanoke Island
Hatteras native and amateur archaeologist Scott Dawson discusses new archaeological discoveries on Hatteras Island that cement the theory that the so-called "Lost Colony" of Roanoke Island really did assimilate with the native people of Hatteras.
The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum presents its Salty Dawgs Speaker Series which features presentations on North Carolina maritime history and culture including topics on piracy, shipwrecks, whaling, sea shanties and the mystery of the Lost Colony. The speakers are historians, divers, maritime history Masters candidates, musicians, professors, researchers, and authors. These talks are scheduled on Tuesdays from May 20 through August 26.
