Salty Dawgs Lecture Series: Myth and Folklore of the Outer Banks

Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, Salty Dawgs Lecture Series: Myth and Folklore of the Outer Banks
Event Description:

Archivist Stuart Parks II covers some of the more popular myths and folk-tales of the Outer Banks. From the White Doe and Blackbeard to the ghost ship Carroll Deering and Goatman, Stuart covers the tall tales and stories that help to define the culture and style of the Outer Banks. While history tells the story of a place, folklore and myth tells the story of a people; their beliefs, their hopes, and their fears.
