38th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival

Kitty Hawk Kites, 38th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival
Event Description:

Francis Rogallo was a NASA scientists and inventor of the flexible wing. His inventions started the sport of hang gliding and his designs have carried over into the stunt kites, power kites, and hang gliders that are flown today. We invite you to join us and raise a kite at the 38th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival! To Francis Rogallo and his many accomplishments.

Kitty Hawk Kites and friends will be displaying amazing 30 - 100 ft kites on top of Jockey’s Ridge. Join us and fly a kite of your own, take part in free stunt kite lessons, and kitemaking for the kids. Check out the kite and toy room inside of our store for kite specials.

PLEASE REMEMBER: Traditionally, this weekend is supposed to be extremely hot and sunny. While this makes for perfect flying conditions, it also means we all need to respect it and be prepared with plenty of water and sunscreen. If you plan to bring a pet, make sure you have the provisions necessary to keep them comfortable.
