OBX Slam Kayak Fishing Tournament
Competitors are allowed to launch at first light on Thursday morning, September 25th. For this event - Speckle Trout, Red Drum, and Flounder are the only fish eligible for scoring. This is a catch, photo, release format tournament. All fish must be measured on an approved measuring device available upon check-in.
Competitors may launch their kayak from any public-access shore directly onto Eligible Water or may launch and then paddle or portage to Eligible Water (a map of eligible water is available with registration packet). Crossing restricted property to reach Eligible Water is not permitted.

Award Structure – SLAM Division
SLAM = Longest combined score of your 3 largest fish caught.
1st Place SLAM – Tournament Grand Prize / Tournament Winner
Kitty Hawk Kites & Kitty Hawk Surf Company will award the cash prize pool as outlined ($15 of each $25 entry goes into this pool).
2nd Place SLAM
Cash prize pool payout from $10 of each $25 entry.
3rd Place SLAM
Cash prize pool payout from $5 of each $25 entry.
