The Outer Banks Community Sailing Program is an "on-the-water program" offered by the Roanoke Island Maritime Museum located in Manteo on the downtown waterfront.  In 1999, sailing adventures were made available to Dare County youth and visitors through this program. The youth sailing program consists of 8 week-long sessions from June 13 - August 5, 2022. Two sessions are taught daily, the morning session is 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, and the afternoon session is 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Classes are designed to teach beginning sailors basic sailing skills and seamanship and improve the sailing skills of intermediate sailors.
