Event Description: 

Follow in the footsteps of our Animal Caretakers at the Aquarium to experience what it's like to do hands-on work behind-the-scenes. Campers will learn, understand and prepare animal diets, water quality assessments and animal enrichments. See how the Aquarium obtains our animals as we go on a collecting trip to the salt marsh and bring back juvenile fish, invertebrates, or comb jellies. Other behind-the-scenes activities include, perform a mock animal necropsy, scuba diver chat, behind-the-scenes at our STAR Center, design river otter treats, learn the life cycle of jellies and many more! Roll up your sleeves and prepare to drive into the life of an aquarist!

(Closed toe shoes and a bag lunch are required.)

Session I: June 24-28, 2019    
Session II: July 15-19, 2019  

Monday through Friday, 9:00am- 3:30pm

Price: 
$235 per camper | $211.50 for NC Aquarium Society Members
Age limit: 
Ages 10 to 13
