Event Description: 

Explore one of the Outer Banks’ hidden gems and learn more about our magical maritime forests. Join the Friends of the Reserve for a spring hike on the trails through Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve, with a focus on native plants. Trip leaders will be Rachel Clark, author of a new guide to the flora of Kitty Hawk Woods, and Alexander Krings, director of the NCSU Herbarium. A minimum donation of $5 per person will support trail maintenance and programs at the Kitty Hawk Woods, Currituck Banks and Buxton Woods Coastal Reserves. Limited to 30 participants, age 12 and older. Meet at the NC Coastal Reserves office at 983 W Kitty Hawk Rd, Kitty Hawk NC on Saturday, May 5th, 11:00 am.
